You will have noticed that your artificial grass does not need the same amount of care as natural grass, and this is great. There is a minimum amount of care, but there are no herbicides or pesticides involved, no mowing and no sprinklers needed. That’s why so many people choose artificial grass, because it’s so versatile and hassle-free. This is one of many good reasons why you chose artificial grass yourself.
However, even in winter, you’ll need to care for your artificial grass a little. It’ll be far more manageable and far less work than natural grass and will require only a little attention through the winter months.
What Can You Do During Period of Frost and Snow?
It shouldn’t really have a massive impact on your artificial grass lawn, however if it might not be a good idea to walk on it when it is frozen solid because the fibres might snap off. Leave snow and frost to drain away as it melts through the grass, it should have a good drainage system built into it. Use a plastic shovel to remove snow and frost if this is what you want to do, don’t use your hands or you could tear the fibres. You could also try using salt, but this should be used infrequently. Rake up debris and any leaves off the grass, or use a soft brush, this should help keep your lawn lush looking and green.
If you care for your lawn on a regular basis in this way, then it should not sustain any long-term damage over the winter months.
